What is good my fellow Musicians, Producers, Young Artists, Rappers, Home Studios, Singers, Songwriters, and Beat Makers alike. I am back with yet another resource to challenge your growth.
I was scrolling down my instagram feed between the classes I taught this past week and came across this topic by Adam from Music Industry Contact... He has some great resources and awesome advice, so I highly recommend following him. I follow as many people that can stretch me as an artist and human being as possible, because they add value and help me be a better me.
Burning Bridges Leads to Toll Roads:
Adam from Music Industry Contact says it beautifully:
This isn't to say that there aren't friendships that need a little extra... honesty, though.
There is a fine line though between burning bridges with people within the music industry and cutting ties to some unhealthy, unproductive friendships that are just holding you down.
Friends come and they go. There is a time and season for everything. You should be able to be honest with your friends, especially after time when you are trying to get work done and make things happen in your life and they are constantly complaining, refuse to get work done, don't support your vision for the future, or contribute to making goals achievable.
I have had to learn this one the absolute hard way... But once you get the difference between burning music industry bridges and cutting unhealthy ties to friendships, you will start making informed decisions and enjoy taking responsibility in your decisions. Remember, as a musician, you are the CEO of your brand. Your music is your brand. Run it with integrity - Partner with integrity.
If you've known me for a while, you will know that I have a passion for empowering, sharing resources and encouraging others to grow in their craft. I believe in the revolution that is changing the music industry and I am personally experiencing this revolution... I want you to be a part of this revolution, so I also offer Coaching and Mixing Services to anyone who wants to improve the sound of their mixes, so they can stand out on the charts as well as grow in their knowledge as a home based artist.
If you're interested in having a coach challenge you along this journey, or you want to improve the mix of your songs, get in touch with me; I will be more than happy to help. I look forward to helping you take your songs to the next level:
